Aurika Karbonskienė – MD, PhD, Anaesthesiology and Reanimatology

The anaesthetist is like a guarantee of safety during surgical operations. Modern medicine offers many ways to curtail the patient’s response to surgery, and to accelerate recovery during the post-operative period and the return to daily activities. When I meet with patients before the procedure, I find out what condition they are in and select the most appropriate method of anaesthesia for the operation at hand. I also observe the patient during surgery in order to minimize the possibility of complications.

My credo is “patient safety in surgical medicine”. High competence, earning and valuing patient trust, respect for ethics, responsibility and thoroughness are the key values that I adhere to in my work.
