Testicle removal for tumor
The testicle needs to be removed when based on the findings of the performed tests, malignant lesions in the testicle are suspected.
How Is the Surgery Performed?
The surgery is performed under general or spinal anesthesia.
During the surgery, an incision is made in the groin area, and the spermatic cord is separated from the surrounding tissue; and the testicle, from the scrotum. The spermatic cord is tied off and cut, the testicle is removed, and the repair in the groin area is performed. The testicle is subjected to histological examination.
What Should Be Known After Surgery?
After 7-10 days, an urologist should be consulted for the discussion of the results of the histological examination and further treatment.
