Frenuloplasty involves lengthening the frenulum that is performed when the retraction of the foreskin over the glans and intercourse become painful due to a too short frenulum.
How Is the Surgery Performed?
Children are operated on under general anesthesia. In adults, it is done under local, regional, spinal, or general anesthesia.
The frenulum is cut across, and then frenuloplasty is performed by suturing the skin edges in a lengthwise fashion.
What Should Be Known After Surgery?
After the surgery, the wound should be redressed until it becomes dry. Good personal hygiene should be practiced.
